Benjamin Bögel

Benjamin Bögel works in the Cabinet of the Executive-Vice President of the European Commission Henna Virkkunen, where he is responsible for EU cybersecurity policy. Until recently he was a Head of Sector for Product Security and Certification Policy at the European Commission's tech policy department DG CONNECT, where he was in charge of the implementation of the Cyber Resilience Act, the world’s first comprehensive piece of security-by-design legislation. Previously, Benjamin has also played an instrumental role in the revision of the EU's NIS Directive, which seeks to protect the security of critical infrastructures across Europe. Benjamin holds degrees in Economics as well as in International Culture and Business and has studied in Germany, France, and Belgium.
